Child & Youth Groups
“Supporting kids from the inside out”
Our groups blend creativity, play, and connection with a developmental approach that supports kids and youth in building regulation, social-emotional skills, and a sense of belonging. Every group is designed to be safe, supportive, and engaging — meeting children where they are while encouraging growth.
Types of Group Experiences
All groups are neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and developmentally sequenced, supporting the three R’s — Regulate · Relate · Reflect.
Inclusive groups, designed by a clinical counsellor and led by outreach workers. These groups are open to all kids and youth and especially supportive for those with sensitive nervous systems who thrive in small, sensory-friendly settings.Community Group Offerings

Courage Through Connection: Therapeutic Play Group
Ages 2 to 5 (with caregivers) — Summer 2026 — Tuesdays, 3:30 to 4:45 pm
Courage Through Connection is a therapist-facilitated play group where young children and their caregivers are supported in building confidence, emotional regulation, and social engagement through play, art, music, movement, and sensory exploration.
Grounded in a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming approach, this group focuses on connection as the foundation for growing independence. Children are supported in relationship with attuned therapists and caregivers, allowing them to explore, engage, and build skills at their own pace.
Each session includes child-led play and creative activities within a safe, supportive environment. While one therapist facilitates the group and supports children in real time, another is available to provide caregiver consultation, guidance, and connection throughout. Caregivers may participate alongside their child, receive support, and gradually step back as their child becomes more comfortable and confident.
Registration Options:
5-Week Series — $180
Drop-In — $45 (space permitting)
Summer Session One — June 30 to July 28, 2026
Summer Session Two — August 4 to September 1, 2026
Previous Offerings
These are past groups we have facilitated and are open to revisiting if there is enough interest. Group offerings are shaped with care to reflect the needs of individuals, and we welcome inquiries about which programs would be most meaningful to bring back.
Big Thinkers Society
The Big Thinkers Society is a series of discussion-based groups for children and youth who love to explore big questions, share ideas, and connect with peers. Each session invites curiosity, respectful dialogue, and creative exploration.
Big Thinkers explores themes from philosophy, psychology, evolution, neuroscience, and ethics, as well as the world our youth are growing up in today: artificial intelligence, social media, algorithms, free will, and what it means to be the first generation coming of age in a time when humanity and machines are beginning to merge.
Age Groups: 10-13 (preteens) — 14-17 (teens)
-
Explore a different theme each week, from Early Humans and Modern Minds to Do we really have free will in the age of algorithms? A fun, accessible introduction to big ideas.
-
A chance to go further with philosophy, ethics, identity, and critical thinking. Builds on the themes from the Sampler. Coming Soon!
-
Groups for preteens and teens who identify as girls. Explore strengths, challenges, and identity in a safe and affirming space.
Community Art Groups
Our Art Groups give children and youth a chance to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others in a safe, supportive environment. Through creative projects, participants can explore emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and practice social-emotional learning — all while having fun.
Art is more than a hobby here. We intentionally design activities to support the three R’s — Regulate, Relate, Reflect:
Regulate through grounding sensory experiences like colour, texture, and simple creative routines.
Relate by co-creating, sharing ideas, and connecting with peers.
Reflect by telling stories through art, expressing identity, and practicing flexible thinking.
-
Age Groups: 4-5 — 6-8 — 9-10
This 5-week art group invites children to create their own magical story world using natural materials like twigs, stones, leaves, and yarn. Each week adds a new layer — forests, cabins, creatures, and families — culminating in a final storytelling circle. Small group size (max 5 participants) ensures lots of individual attention and support.
-
Ages: 12–15
This 5-week art group offers teens a creative studio space to design meaningful, handmade gifts for their family and friends. With clay as the primary medium and options to branch into simple jewelry or stuffy-making, youth can choose projects that feel personal and purposeful.
Most of the program is spent building and finishing clay pieces — dishes, ornaments, pendants, or keychains — while the final weeks also include opportunities to assemble jewelry, sew simple stuffies, or create cards and wrapping.
Holiday Makers is about choice, creativity, and connection. Teens leave with gifts they feel proud to give, and the experience of working alongside peers in a small, relational group setting.
